During the last week in July of 2005 UK iStopMotion Reseller ICT Links held it’s first Summer School at the Courthouse Arts Centre in Otley, West Yorkshire.

The Summer School was run over five mornings and five afternoons and the attendees, aged between eight and fifteen, worked to create a Stop Motion animated movie. Learning how to make characters out of modeling material and build sets they developed an animation storyboard from the soundtracks they recorded.

Using Boinx iStopMotion with a range of digital cameras they captured their sequences. Along with movie editing software and music creation software they were able to edit their movies adding in atmospheric music and sound-effects.

The completed movies are an amazing achievement considering none of the kids had used either the software or equipment before and for the majority it was their first foray into the amazing and fun world of animated movie making.
