Known Issues

Version 1.10.3

• On certain machines with older graphics cards you may experience very strange behaviour where the movie window seems to repeat infinitely inside itself. We have not yet been able to track this one down, but there are at least two workarounds: 1) Switch your display to Thousands of colors. 2) Make the window smaller. 3) Buy a better Mac, as your machine is most certainly very slow for video work, anyway ;-)
• There is a strange bug that seems to be rooted in Apples AppKit of Mac OS X v10.3. If you close a document that contains unsaved changes, a sheet will slide out, telling you about the fact and offering you to save the document. Sometimes (usually after the second sheet) a flat grey area at the position where the sheet slides out of the window remains on the screen, looking like a inset "bar". These artifacts can only be removed by quitting iStopMotion. If you experience that mysterious bar, please save your open documents, quit iStopMotion and start it again. We are reporting this to Apple and hoping to resolve it soon.
• Onion Skinning does currently not work with movies that were created with applications other than iStopMotion.
• The default shortcut for capturing a single frame is [Spacebar]. While quite handy, this shortcut is barely visible in the Preferences window. Shortcut assignment and display will be changed in a future version.
• The display of the camera preview may look quite bad. This depends on your graphics card. As a rule of thumb, either use a more recent graphics card with enough memory (at least 16MB) or work with small resolutions. However, the captured frames in the movie always have perfect quality.
